About the Founder
Kayura was founded by Indian American Kanan Patel who grew up in a household that honored both the ancient healing wisdom of Ayurveda and pharmaceutical science.
As a teen, when Kanan struggled with skin allergies, her pharmacist father would give her OTC products that quelled histamines, while her mother would concoct Ayurvedic remedies that reduce inflammation.
Ever-curious about function and effect, the questions she asked of her parents helped her discover the value and efficacy of both approaches in clearing up her skin, particularly when combined.
As a skincare enthusiast, Kanan found the beauty industry not only failed to reflect diversity but also fell short of its promises. Armed with a Master's in Pharmaceutics and Cosmetic Science, Kanan created a line of beauty and holistic wellness products that would meet the needs of all people and skin tones. This is Kayura.
The Keeper of Traditions
My journey into wellness began with a profound connection to nature and the healing power of plants. I’ve always believed that the body knows how to restore itself when it’s supported with care. I began experimenting with plant-based remedies, creating simple homemade recipes for myself and my loved ones.
When Kanan began searching for answers through science, I watched our perspectives slowly come together. Where I brought years of lived practice and traditional knowledge, she brought scientific precision and deeper understanding.
In that meeting of tradition and science, Kayura found its beginning.
