FOUNDER, KAYURA
About the Founder
Kayura was founded by Indian-American Kanan Patel who grew up in a household that honored both the ancient healing wisdom of Ayurveda and pharmaceutical science.
As a teen, when Kanan struggled with skin allergies, her pharmacist father would give her OTC products that quell histamines, while her mother would concoct Ayurvedic remedies that reduce inflammation.
Ever-curious about function and effect, the questions she asked of her parents helped her discover the value and efficacy of both approaches in clearing up her skin, particularly when combined.
As a skincare enthusiast, Kanan found the beauty industry not only failed to reflect diversity but also fell short of its promises. Armed with a Masters in Pharmaceutics and Cosmetic Science, Kanan created a line of beauty and holistic wellness products that would meet the needs of all people and skin tones. This is Kayura.
The Keeper of Traditions
Falguni's journey into wellness began with a profound connection to nature and the healing power of Ayurveda. For her, true balance meant nurturing not just the body but the mind and soul. She believed that healing should be holistic, not just a temporary fix.
She began experimenting with plant-based remedies, creating simple, homemade recipes for herself and her loved ones. The results weren't just skin-deep—they brought peace, balance, and a sense of calm.
Her passion for plant-based remedies and thoughtful rituals inspired her daughter, Kanan, to weave Ayurveda’s wisdom into their skincare brand. Together, they created a philosophy rooted in harmony, blending ancient traditions with modern care to heal deeply and sustainably.
